Denise Austin is a pioneer in the fitness industry and she has a very sensible approach to life. Unlike many radicals when it comes to diet or exercise, Denise Austin promotes the use of natural sugar and butter over artificial sweeteners and other artificial products. She also feels that exercise only needs to be about 30 minutes a day to maintain health. Of course, she advocates portion control, healthy foods, and a balanced diet. One of the best DVDs for beginners is “Denise Austin Yoga Body Burn Workout.” The DVD covers the basic to intermediate levels, so it is great to start out and then grow with into the higher levels of skill. The DVD is broken down into four main workouts: Yoga Legs, Yoga Abs, Yoga Burn, and Extra! Yoga Relax.
The Yoga Legs section is a 10 minute workout that starts with stretching exercises, though that is where the focus lies. There isn’t a lot of strengthening work, but the flow is fantastic and will help you stretch out very nicely.
The Yoga Abs portion goes over about 10 different workouts with Denise Austin. Fat blasting yoga is a pillar of her style of exercise and you will find these positions really working over your abs. The session starts off with some simple stretching, followed by a lot of strengthening positions to really work your core.
Yoga burn lasts about 20 minutes and really works to get your entire body moving. The poses are known as Vinyasa poses. Vinyasa means “breath synchronized movement” and this is the only really downside of the DVD. While the movements are intended to be synchronized with your breathing, she doesn’t really go over proper ways to breath in the beginning so it can get a little confusing.
The last section deals with the end of your yoga session. This 10 minute piece will work on the calming deep stretches now that your body is nice and worked up. The poses flow very nicely and it will leave your body feeling refreshed. One of the best parts of the DVD is that Denise talks through each pose, but after you are comfortable with them, you can turn her voice off, and play your own relaxing music as you make your way through the poses.
Denise Austin yoga is a fantastic way to get into the yoga world and a great starting point to get your body into the shape you desire. Whether you are a beginner or intermediate, Denise will help you get a new perspective on yoga and her routines will become a part of your weekly exercises in no time.
